Applications
Transport and infrastructure
Stations, airports, depots and the networks around them: large, busy sites where a small team is responsible for a lot of ground.
Current focus
Rendered visualisation, not live footage.
The challenge
Open sites, few people.
Transport sites are open by design. Thousands of people move through them every day, and the infrastructure around them stretches for miles along track, roads and perimeter fences.
Most already have extensive camera coverage, and many are adding cleaning, inspection and security robots. What they lack is a way to turn all of that into timely, evidenced decisions without adding more people to the control room.
What Alethem does
One investigation loop across every camera and robot.
Unattended items
Flags items left behind, checks how long they've been there and who left them, and gathers the evidence an operator needs to decide.
Restricted areas
Notices people in places they shouldn't be, such as track-side, plant rooms or depots, and checks against shift and access records.
Robots as extra eyes
Uses robots already on site, like cleaning or inspection robots, to take a closer look between their normal tasks.
Example cases
What it would investigate.
Bag left on a platform
A camera sees a bag with no one nearby. The system checks earlier footage to see who left it and when, sends the nearest robot for a closer view, and gives the operator one case with the images and timeline.
Person on the track side of a fence
Movement is flagged outside working hours. Access records show no booking. A second camera confirms one person. The operator decides whether to send staff or call the police.
Vehicle stopped near a depot gate
A vehicle waits by a gate for longer than normal. The system checks whether a delivery is booked and keeps a camera on it until the operator decides.
Stage
Developing and testing the first system.
We're building the first version for transport sites and testing it in simulation and on recorded footage. We're looking for operators and public bodies who want to trial it in real conditions.
